He even reveals his belief that she's likely to make some kind of defensive tool, like a shield or armor from the material of the Invisible Jet. Approaching Wonder Woman when she ventures into the pits of the underworld to see her newest prisoner (an exhausted and Doctor Manhattan empowered Wally West), the Batman Who Laughs taunts Wonder Woman with his knowledge of her approaching attempt to escape his rule and help fight back against him. The Batman Who Laughs has a different thought. Bat-Mage is initially impressed with the idea, reasoning that Wonder Woman is using the invisible material to create new chains for the dungeons - so the prisoners won't even be able to see the things holding them down. In the Post- Crisis DC Universe, the plane was a sophisticated alien device that could morph into shape, turn invisible and also developed a personality. It even had the ability to move through outer space, allowing Wonder Woman to take part in certain adventures that would require her to leave the planet. The Invisible Jet is one of the oldest elements of the Wonder Woman corner of the DC Universe, first appearing in Sensation Comics #1 in 1942.Ĭreated in an era where Wonder Woman lacked the ability to fly, the specially-crafted vehicle was not only invisible, but able to traverse the globe with amazing speed while still being stealthy and undetectable.
